11. 다른 사람의 악행을 보고 분개하지 말 것입니다

1 하느님의 종은 죄 외에 어떤 일도 못마땅해 해서는 안 됩니다.
2 그리고 누가 어떤 죄를 지을 경우라도 하느님의 종은 이 죄를 보고 사랑이 아닌 다른 이유로 흥분하거나 분개하면 그 죄를(판단할 하느님의 권한을) 자기 것으로 하는 것입니다(참조: 로마 2,5).
3 .어떤 일 때문에도 분개하거나 흥분하지 않는 하느님의 종은 진정코 아무 소유도 없이 사는 사람입니다.
4 그리고 "카이사르의 것은 카이사르에게 돌리고 하느님의 것은 하느님께"(마태 22,21) 돌리면서 자기에게는 아무것도 남겨 두지 않는 사람은 복됩니다. 

 

XI. No one should be scandalized at another’s fall

 

Nothing should upset a religious except sin. And even them, no matter what kind of sin has been committed, if he is upset or angry for any other reason except charity, he is only drawing blame upon himself. A religious lives a good life and avoids sin when he is never angry or disturbed at anything. Blessed the man who keeps nothing for himself, but renders to Caesar the things that are Cassar’s, and to God the things are God’s (Mt. 22; 21).
