Otherwise, head left to the funicular for the 15-minute ride up the island's main town of Capri.Getting around Capri: As much of Capri's best scenery is from belvederes and walking paths, the best way to get around the island is on foot and by the buses that run frequently between Capri and Anacapri. The bus station in Capri is in Piazza Martiri d'Ungheria (on Via Roma); Anacapri's is in Piazza della Pace. The main connections:From Marina Grande to the Piazzetta: funicular (cable car)From Marina Grande to Anacapri: bus or funicular (to Capri town) + busFrom Capri to Anacapri: busTo the Blue Grotto: boat from Marina Grande or bus from AnacapriHow to purchase tickets to public transportationThere are three public transport companies on the island of Capri: the funicular and two bus companies. There is no daily pass that is valid for all three, so you need to buy individual tickets for each ride.Bus & funicular tickets: €2Baggage supplement: €1.80Passengers on Capri's public transportation are allowed one piece of luggage per person, weighing a maximum of 10 kg and measuring 23cm x 30cm x 50cm (roughly the size of a carry-on bag). To transport your bag, you must pay a supplement. Bags larger than the maximum allowance can be transported by porter service or taxi. All baby strollers and carriages must be folded before boarding buses or the funicular. In addition to the ticket office in Marina Grande, you can purchase tickets at the Capri town terminal located in Piazza Martiri d'Ungheria (one minute from the Piazzetta) and in Anacapri in Piazza della Pace. Tickets can also be purchased at newsstands.Funicular (cable car)The funicular runs between the port in Marina Grande and the Piazzetta in Capri town above, taking just a few minutes to complete the trip. The Capri stop is behind the Piazzetta. Courses run every 15 minutes (for example: 9:00, 9:15, 9:30...), though during the most crowded times the funicular runs non-stop. As soon as you arrive at the port, purchase your tickets at the ticket office to the right on the pier. The trip only lasts 4 minutes, though you can often find long lines of passengers waiting to board at Marina Grande, as only 70 passengers can ride at one time. If the line is long and you are travelling with a small group, it may be worth it to hire a taxi. The fares are fixed at €17 for up to 4 passengers and €20 for up to 7 passengers. There are often long lines to take the funicular back down the hill to Marina Grande, as well, so you can walk down: the stairs begin at the Piazzetta and lead to the port in about 15 minutes by foot. Otherwise, there are buses up to Capri town that depart from the stop on Via Marina Grande or pier 21.The funicular runs from early morning to 10:00pm, after which there is a substitute bus route. This service closes during the months of January and February, and is substituted by a bus route.Transportation informationTicket: €2You must pay a supplement for luggage and pets.Departures: every 15 minutesFunicular SchedulePublic BusesPublic buses on the Italian island of Capri are minibuses, carrying just a few dozen people at once. The most popular line runs between Capri and Anacapri, but there are routes across the island. Usually, buses depart every 15 to 20 minutes, though more often in high season. The main bus routesCapri - Anacapri: 15 minutesCapri - Marina Piccola: 10 minutesMarina Grande - Anacapri: 25 minutesMarina Piccola - Anacapri: 25 minutesAnacapri - Blue Grotto: 20 minutesAnacapri - Punta Carena Lighthouse: 20 minutesBus Scheduleson footThere is often a long line waiting to board in Anacapri's Piazza Vittoria, near the chairlift to Mount Solaro. To be sure to get a seat on the bus to Capri, all you need to do is walk about 100 meters up Viale Tommaso de Tommaso to the preceding bus stop and board there. If you don't suffer from vertigo and you'd like to admire the spectacular view, sit on the right side of the bus running uphill from Capri to Anacapri. Many parts of the island of Capri are easily reached on foot, especially if they are downhill! When the island gets crowded, it's often more enjoyable to take a leisurely walk to your destination than to wait in the long line at the bus stop under the hot sun. Here are the main alternative walking routes:Capri - Marina Grande: 15 minutes (down flights of stairs the entire way)Anacapri - Marina Grande: 30 minutes down the 900 steps of the Phoenician Steps.Capri - Marina Piccola: 20 minutes down the steps of Via Mulohttps://oneperfectdayin.org/2017/08/29/capri-italy-10-things-to-do-with-walking-tour-maps-and-podcast-019/Marina Grande- Capri € 2.00To reach the Piazzetta, you can take the funicular (which departs directly opposite the pier; the ticket office is to the right) or one of Capri's open-top taxis. The fare for a ride between the port and the Piazzetta is about €15. Just past the ticket office, there is the bus terminal where buses for the center of Capri town and Anacapri depart.Funicular scheduleCable Car 06:30, 06:40, 07:00, 07:30, 07:45, 08:00, 08:15, 08:30, 08:45Capri - Marina Grande every 15 minMount Solaro Chair lift Hours 9:30 am – 5:00 pm10 Things to Do with Walking Tour, https://www.discoveringcapri.it/chairlift.htmllocals say it is easier to walk down Mount Solaro.)Bus Schedule Anacapri - Lighthouse - Blue Grotto The Blue Grotto Capri - InformationGetting there: by bus from Anacapri or by boat Marina Grande.Opening hours: each day from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with favorable sea conditions (in case of certain high winds, the cave mouth is inaccessible).Entrance fee: EUR 14/person (the Blue Grotto is a cultural site and entrance fees are equivalent to those of a museum).FAQ about the Blue Grotto CapriHow to Reach the Blue Grotto - Capri - ItalyBoat: 10 minutes from Marina Grande or as a stop along an island tour by boat.Bus: From the stop at Anacapri, 50 meters from Piazza Vittoria (a 15 minute ride).Foot: From Viale T. de Tommaso, take Via Pagliaro and then Via Grotta Azzurra (3.5 km, 40 minutes). How do I get to the Blue Grotto? With a tour boat: at Marina Grande's port, you can purchase tickets for tours of the island by sea or a roundtrip ticket to the Blue Grotto at the ticket offices of the Motoscafisti and Laser Capri charter companies. If you purchase the "Island Tour by Sea + Stop at the Grotto", the tour boat will take you on a complete tour of the entire island including a stop at the entrance to the Blue Grotto. Here you will have to disembark from your tour boat and take one of the small rowboats to enter the cave itself. With a private boat: if you are visiting Capri island with your own private boat and want to tour the Blue Grotto, you can anchor at the buoys near the cave and signal to one of the waiting rowboats to be picked up. You can also hire a private gozzo with skipper from Marina Grande. These traditional island boats carry a maximum of seven passengers (thought there are larger versions available, as well) and the rate for a two hour tour is from EUR 150.Walking or by bus: from the center of Anacapri, first walk down Via Pagliaro then down Via Grotta Azzurra (3.5 km). There is also a public bus which leaves from Piazza della Pace. From the final stop, take the stairs down to the seaside where there is the queue to the rowboats. Along the stairs, there is a small concession stand (open only in summer) which sells drinks, snacks, and souvenirs. When is the best time to visit? The famous light that illuminates the inside of the cavern is at its strongest between noon and two in the afternoon, though the reflections are spectacular all through the morning hours. Avoid visiting the grotto on heavily overcast days (when the effect of the sunlight inside the cave is much less dramatic). There is often less of a wait in the afternoon (after 3:00 p.m.), but the seas can become rough resulting in the cave closing to the public. How much does it cost to enter the Blue Grotto Capri?Tickets cost EUR 14 and are purchased from the floating ticket office (EUR 10 for the rowboat plus EUR 4 for entry).Discounts: Children entrance under 6 years old: free. For citizens of the European Union younger than 18 entry is free, so tickets must be purchased solely for the rowboat (EUR 10). For citizens of the European Union between 18 and 25 years of age, there is a discount of 50% on the entry ticket, so the total cost is EUR 12. Tickets for the Blue Grotto are in addition to tickets for boat tours from Marina Grande. For boat tours by sea of the island, the ticket price per person is EUR 17; for simply a roundtrip transfer to and from the Blue Grotto, the price per person is EUR 14. The rowboat skippers who take visitors inside the grotto usually ask for a tip, though this is is at the discretion of passengers. Can I swim inside the grotto?Visitors are not allowed to swim into the grotto or dive from rowboats to swim inside the cavern. Many visitors wait until after 5:30 p.m. when the rowboats leave and the ticket office closes to swim inside. This is illegal and dangerous, as the high waves can slam swimmers against the stone of the low cave mouth. How do I visit the Blue Grotto with kids? There is no minimum age to visit the Blue Grotto, though the use of rowboats to gain access to the cave can be hard on small children and infants, as there is often a long wait under the sun.How long does it take to visit the grotto? The visit inside the grotto on rowboats lasts about five minutes. However, the wait to enter the cave can be long, reaching an hour during high season at peak times of the day. The average time for a tour of the island by sea plus a visit to the Blue Grotto is about two hours. For a simple roundtrip transfer and visit to the cave, plan for about an hour. How do I know if the Grotto is open or closed? In case of strong winds or rough seas, entrance to the grotto will be suspended; often, the grotto will open and close a number of times on the same day when the weather is unstable. Unfortunately, it's hard to forecast closures due to weather, though if the weather forecast reports rough seas, the grotto will probably be closed. To check on up-to-date closures, call the Motoscafisti di Capri pier at 081 8375646 after 9 am.Is the Grotto open in winter? In case of mild weather, the Blue Grotto is open during the winter months. That said, the grotto is often closed between November and the beginning of March due to adverse weather conditions. If you are visiting during the winter, you can check up-to-date closures at the Marina Grande port by asking at the ticket windows for Laser Capri (Pier 21) or Motoscafisti di Capri (Pier 0), or by calling the Motoscafisti di Capri pier at 081 8375646 after 9 am. If both ticket offices are closed and no one answers the telephone, the grotto is closed. Why is the Blue Grotto so, um, blue? The bright azzure color of the water inside the cave is due to the sunlight which enters the cavern through an underwater opening which is positioned exactly under the cave's mouth. As the light passes through the water, the red reflections are filtered out and only the blue enter the cave itself. The famous silver reflections of objects in the water are caused by tiny bubbles covering the outside of objects underwater, which causes the light to refract differently than that of the surrounding water and causes this silvery effect. What is the history of the grotto?During the reign of Tiberius in Roman times, the grotto was used as a marine temple, and ancient Roman statues found here are now on display at the Casa Rossa in Anacapri. For many years afterwards, the Blue Grotto was avoided by sailors, as local legends told of spirits and demons living there. One day in 1826, however, local fisherman Angelo Ferraro accompanied German author August Kopisch and painter Ernst Fries to the cave, and their tales of its marvels have led to the grotto being one of the must-see sights on any visitor to Capri's itinerary. Peter's Basilica 3.2 milesVatican Museums 3.4 milesTrevi Fountain 1.9 mileshttps://citywonders.com/vatican-tours/vatican-and-colosseum-tour 9AM start12 mon. 13 tues 2 adults 1 children $449.57 ($117.37)Sites VisitedVatican and MuseumsSistine ChapelSt. Peter's BasilicaColosseumRoman ForumPalatine Hill Vatican, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter's Basilica Tour12 mon. 13 tues8AM $260.94 /for 4, (8:45 AM, 9AM) Colosseumhttps://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g187791-d192285-Reviews-Colosseum-Rome_Lazio.html3PM COLOSSEUM $168.56, 4PM COLOSSEUM $168.565pm COLOSSEUM $155.08 (2 adults44.39 2 children 33.15 )How much does public transport cost in Rome?standard ticket, valid for one Metro ride or 100 minutes on all buses allowing transfers. €1.50. 24 hour ticket - valid for unlimited metro, bus, and train travel within Rome for 24 hours from validation. €7.00. https://kiwitaxi.com/blog/how-to-get/rome-airport-termini/ taxi € 50https://www.rometransfer.it/fiumicino-termini-taxi-fare/a public taxi from Fiumicino to Termini station costs € 48 (fixed fare).train € 40.50 every 5 minTaxi From Fiumicino Airport, the rate is €45.The taxi fare includes baggage and is for a maximum of four passengers.Taxi fare finder € 59,62 Estimated Taxi Fare: € 65,96Add. 5 Beautiful Villages of Cinque Terre
5. Monterosso al Mare
Monterosso al Mare is a small village on the northwest coast with the best beaches on Cinque Terre. Monterosso has the best beaches of the Cinque Terre villages and the most wine shops, artisan shops, hotels and restaurants. It is divided into Old and New Town that are connected by a tunnel used mainly by pedestrians. The best way to get there is via train unless drivers have nerves of steel enough to navigate a narrow, steep and winding road. A top sight is the Church of San Francisco, a monastery that boasts a Van Dyck painting. The village is well-known for its lemons, olives and white wines, so travelers will want to be sure to sample some.
4. Corniglia
Corniglia feels smaller and quieter, but is just as charming as the other towns. Sitting on top of a cliff that falls off abruptly into the ocean and surrounded by vineyards, Corniglia nonetheless provides stunning views of the Mediterranean. It’s best reached by climbing 382 steps, though sometimes buses are available on the road. Corniglia is characterized by the same narrow streets and quaint buildings as the other Cinque Terre towns. The main historical artifact, aside from the colorful homes, is some Genoese fortifications built in the 16th century.
3. Riomaggiore
Riomaggiore, the southernmost town in Cinque Terre, has lots of wow! factor as the sight of houses clinging to step hills will immediately invoke this exclamation. The town is known for its historic buildings and, of course, its locally produced wines. Riomaggiore has a small beach as well as lots of shops and restaurants. Hiking the Via dell’Amore to Manarola is considered a top tourist activity, but visitors won’t want to miss seeing the Church of San Giovanni Battista (St. John the Baptist), a medieval church that oozes serenity on the hillside on which it is built.
2. Manarola
Like the other Cinque Terre towns, Manarola sits atop a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean. It is the second smallest town in the group, and also is considered to be the oldest. Manarola is filled with the same narrow stone streets and charming colorful buildings. Manarola is a fishing village that is also long-famous for its wines; the village’s wines were even mentioned by the Romans. Manarola is a great place for hikers, who can take to the hills and vineyards, as well as walk to Riomaggiore, which is perhaps the most famous walk in Cinque Terre.
1. Vernazza
After devastating flooding and mudslides in 2011, Vernazza has reclaimed its reputation as the most picturesque town in Cinque Terre. This small fishing village is loaded with charm. Not only that, but it has the best harbor in the Cinque Terre. The picture-postcard village sits atop a cliff overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. It’s a great place to explore by foot – indeed, foot is the only way as cars aren’t permitted on the narrow streets that are marked with frequent steps. Walking between Vernazza and Monterosso al Mare is a special treat for visitors; the hike takes about 90 minutes.

very easy 15-20 minute walk. We usually walk between a couple of towns, maybe take a train, and usually a boat from Vernazza to Monterosso.
The trail that connects the five villages of the Cinque Terre is the famous Sentiero no. 2 or Sentiero Azzuro. It is 11 kilometers long. If the whole of it is open, it takes an estimated 5 hours

Cheque terre
