티나가 세째를 얻어서 10주가 되었단다. 이번 여행은 빠진다고 한다.
이 배에서 좋은 기억은 없었다.
8월 26일 일요일
오후 5시에 집을 출발 30만에 레건 공항에 도착하여 거의 3시간을 공항에서 기다렸다가 젯 부루 비행기를 탔다.
잿부루 비행기는 유나이트 비행기보다 실내가 넓었고 의자 간격이 여유로웠다.

11시 반에 비행기 장에서 호텔에 전화를 해서 셔틀을 3분 만에 탈 수 있었다
호텔은 좋았다. 5명이 편안하게 잘 수 있도록 여유로운 방 사이지였다. 퀸 사이즈 가 두개고 하나의 카우지는 벙크 밷이였다.
주일 미사를 하기 위해 알아본 성당이 걸어서 한시간 가량 걸리는 곳에 있어 8시 반 미사를 한다고 해서 7시 반에 출발했다.
성당은 작고 아름다웠으며 교우들도 백인이 주로 이루었고 8시 반 미사인데도 청년들의 밴드가 미사를 리드했고 신부님은 제대를 내려와서 강론을 하는 등 활발한 커뮤니티 임을 알 수 있었다.
성당을 좀 일찍나와 호텔 앞에 있는 샤핑센터케이 마트에서 모자를 것 같은 치악을 샀다.
아침 식사는 간단한 컨티넨탈 이였으며 10시 반에 셔틀을 알아보니 12시경에나 탈 수 있다고 해서 배차 하는 사람에게 빠른 배차를 원하고 버스장에가서 기다리다 10시 45분에 셔틀을 탈 수 있었다.

11시경에 포트에 도착하여 준비해온 보딩 페이퍼를 이용하여 쉽게 보딩할 수 있었다. 우리는 #7195에 에디가족은 #10785이였는데 에디 것은 아쿠아 쇼를 방에서 볼 수 있는 뷰를 가지고 있었다.
8월 26일 월요일
바하마에서는 7시 반에 도착하여 워터 팍을 가기 위해 일인당 4불을 주고 택시를 타고 8시에 도착하였으나 10시 오픈한다고 해서 12시 반까지 ship으로 되돌아가게 되어있어 포기하고 watherpark에서 ship까지 2마일이라고 해서 빤히 보이기도하고 날씨가 그리 덥지를 않아 걷기로 하고 ship으로 돌아오니 9시반이였다.
저녁 7시반에 마마미아 쇼를 보았다.
쇼가 시작되고 10분도 안되 재미가 없어 나는 졸음쏟아져 잠을 잤었고 일막이 끝나자 우리들은 방으로 돌아왔다
지선 지혜이 사진 찍히는 것을 좋아하지 않는 그들의 태도에 경아가 화를 내며 크루 기물을 부수는 것을 보고 경비원이 보고 경아가 그들로 부터 힘든 시간을 가지다가 우리의 방으로 나를 찾아와서 다시 그러한 일이 있으면 ship에서 내려야 하고 수리비를 물어야 한다면서 24시간 경아가 혼자 다니지 못하도록 요구했다.
8월 29일 화요일
배에서 있는 날이였고 다시 경비실로 불려가서 비디오와 증인이 있는데서 다시한번 더 책임을 뭍는 조사를 받았다
아이스 쇼를 보았다. 쇼를 보면서 즐기지를 못했다. 한두개의 아름다운 선을 만들어 좋았지만 아이스 쇼 단원들이 실수를 할까보아 쇼 내내 조마조마 하게 보았다.
8월 30일 수요일
센 토마스에 도착하여 왕복 일인당 20불씩 내고 Coral World에 도착하여 입장료 일인당 20불을 내고 들어갔다.
Key LargoNational Park, 가 아름답고 볼 것이 많다고 생각이 날 정도로 산호를 보는 박물관은 초라했고 거북이를 만질 수 있는 기회는 미리 예약을 하지 않아 가질 수 없었다. 그러나 백불을 내는 그러한 체험을 안한 것이 낳았었다고 생각이 들었다.
아이들은 스노크링을 하는 것을 원하지 않아 옆에 있는 비치에 가지를 않고 돌아온 것은 아쉬웠다.
8월 31일
St. Kitt 에 도착 Tudle Beach,가 있다고 해서 일인당 왕복 12불을 주고 택시를 타고 갔더니 Tudle Beach는 개인 비치라고 해서
그 옆에 있는 퍼브릭 비치 Cockleshell Beach에서 의자 하나에 8불씩 내고 두개를 빌려서 3시간 동안 비치에서 놀다가 돌아왔다
기억이 나는 것은 10여 년 전에 한데레사와 10명이 렌트 차를 해서 .이곳 비치에 와서 놀았던 기억을 했다.

랍스터 디너를 제공받았다.
저녁 쇼로는 Blue Planet쇼는 볼만 했다. 쇼의 마지막 파트는 좀 좋지 않았었다.

아침 5시에 일어나 5시 반에 출구 앞에 서서 제일 먼저 ship을 나갈 것으로 생각했었는데 특별 가격을 낸 사람들에게 우선권을 주어 실질 적으로는 제일 먼저 나오지는 못했다.
22불에 팁 2불을 내고 택시를 타고 10여분 만에 공항에 도착 9시 15분 경에 출발하여 11시 반에 레이건 공항에 도착 티나가 마중나와 차를 타고 아난데일 에 있는 고기야 집에서 갈비탕에 먹고 집으로 돌아왔다.
지선이가 할머니는 지선이를 사랑하지 않는다는 말과 함께 헤어지는 순간에 모른척했던 그의 태도를 보고 무엇인가 지선이의 마음을 닫게 하였는지 생각을 하게 했고
또다시 그들과 함께하는 여행이 나에게 부담스럽게 했다./

Best Beaches for Sunny Days in Nassau
Cabbage Beach on Paradise Island is one of the most beautiful soft, white sand beaches in the world. Away from downtown Nassau's popular, but often crowded and rowdy Junkanoo Beach and the resort strip along Cable Beach, you can find quiet, thinly inhabited, locals beaches that offer everything from caves, historic sites and snorkeling to horse back riding and experiencing a true Bahamian village - as close as you can get to the Out Islands on New Providence Island. For the best seclusion, head to New Providence Island's West End and southern shoreline.
Named one of the best in the world, Paradise Island's Cabbage Beach fronts several of the big hotels including Atlantis, Hotel Riu Palace and one&Only Ocean Club. Public access is on Casino Drive next to Riu Palace. The beach itself is a beautiful, wide stretch of soft white sand spanning about two miles of coastline. Palms, sea grapes and Australian pines line the stretch along tame, clear, aquamarine waters. Small tiki structures provide shade. There are several places to rent water sports equipment, from jet skis to floats. Not surprisingly, it tends to be crowded and busy, more so at the western end.

As far as freeport there is not a lot to do in the port area. But you can take a Taxi/Van to Our Lucya for $5 / person each way and there is a Beautiful Beach there w/ no entry fee. There is also a decent shopping area there and Casino as well if that interest you.
In Nassau there is Cable Beach not too far from the port. Have not been to this beach yet but we will in Nassau in a couple of weeks and we are are considering trying it. We have done Cabbage Beach a few times on Paradise Island right down from Atlantis. The water can be pretty rough though. I reccommend taking the Water Taxi for $3/ person to Paradise Is. It is a pretty fun experience in itself.

You need to warn people that the bus drops you off about 1/2 a mile from the actual beach.
20 - 30 minutes to Coki
can catch a taxi, have him drop you off at Coki Beach, give him a time to return to pick you up, $12-15
AVOID this beach when there are 3 or more cruise ships in town (vinow.com/cruise/ship-sc…)...it becomes an overcrowded ant colony. Try to go when there are no cruise ships, or at most just one. They literally drop off tourists by the bus-load.
The right hand side of the beach has the best snorkeling.
They have some food and drinks but I believe it's cash only but I could be wrong. Also make sure to pay in exact cash because they may say they don't have change
you can rent 2 chairs + 1 umbrella for $20 but I forgot to haggle

Brimstone Hill Fortress is one of the most magnificent fortresses in the Americas, designed by British and constructed by enslaved African artisans. In 1999 it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. Strong winds limited the drone flights.

UNESCO World Heritage Site, a well-preserved fortress on a hill on the island of St. Kitts in the Federation of St. Christopher (St. Kitts) and Nevis in the Eastern Caribbean. It was designed by British military engineers, and was built and maintained by African slaves. It is one of the best preserved historical fortifications in the Americas.
- We had rented a car and the drive up to Brimstone (the actual hill) is a bit nerve-wracking (windy and steep!)

It was $10 per person admission fee.to visit Brimstone Hill Fortress. First we watched the 20 minute video which was informative and nice. After we finished touring the fort, our drive offered to take us on a tour of the island at no extra charge. We drove over to the Atlantic side and enjoyed seeing some resorts, petting a monkey, etc. We returned to the ship by 1:30 p.m.
- Beautiful views. We took a public bus that dropped off at the road and we hiked from there.
It was a pleasant and easy hike up the hill. Totally worth it.
- A British fortress built by African slaves in 1690 and still in great shape. Lots of history to be learned here about the French and English battling over the island of St. Kitts. in 1782 it was attacked by over 8000 french troops. It held out over a month before it fell in February of that year. It was given back to the British in 1894, but was abandoned in 1852.
Being your sneakers because this fortress has many steps to the magnificent view!- I brought my children ages 10-14, and we all loved learning about the history of the fortress. My family highly recommends this stop on your vacation. Note: the walk up to the top is a steep slope of cobble stones. I would not recommend the climb for elderly or very young people.
-The road up is nuts, steep,twisty . Better have a good driver . once up the fort has amazing views and is nicely laid out. Great history.
- Just grab a taxi and spend at least two hours so you can enjoy and see everything. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the history of the island, its people and more. The steep, winding one-lane road with hairpin turns are part of the adventure!
- Not much to do If you are a history buff then this fort might be of interest. But honestly, although I generally love historical spots, this to me was a bore. Yes, there are a couple of cannons and you can see the walls of the fort, but that's it. There is a gift shop but there are no markers to tell the story of the fort or anything that might interest travelers.
Independence Square
was named on the occasion of St. Kitts and Nevis achieving political independence on September 19, 1983. Originally called Pall Mall Square, The Government first acquired it in 1750 and it rapidly became the administrative, commercial and social centre of Basseterre. The Square was the site of the slave market. Slaves arriving from Africa were temporarily quartered in the basement of a building on the south side of the Square.[
Took a break from the regular cruise excursions and took a cab to Frigate Bay. Great small beach with local food and alcohol readily available. Beach chairs and umbrellas were only $5, and a 40-minute massage for $40 was very good too. Nice day with the family.
